Revanth fails in promoting Miss World pageant!

The Miss World 2025 beauty pageant, a globally recognized event, is currently being hosted in Telangana.

As one of the most prestigious international events, it has drawn significant global attention, with journalists from across India arriving in Hyderabad to cover the spectacle.

However, the Congress-led Telangana government, headed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, appears to have missed a golden opportunity to capitalize on the event and generate public engagement.

Despite making excellent logistical arrangements, the event has lacked strong publicity and strategic promotion.

Many observers believe that had the event taken place during the tenure of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), it would have received massive media coverage, statewide promotional campaigns, and prominent public spending.

KCR’s son, K. T. Rama Rao, known for his aggressive promotional strategies, would likely have taken the lead — branding Hyderabad extensively, organizing social media blitzes, arranging contestant interviews, and personally showcasing Telangana’s culture.

In contrast, the Revanth Reddy administration has done little to promote the event.

Even the official launch at GMC Balayogi Stadium went largely unnoticed, possibly overshadowed by concerns over border tensions with Pakistan.

There has been no major branding campaign, no high-impact public relations efforts, and minimal engagement from the state’s Information and Public Relations Department, despite having full-time PROs for the chief minister and cabinet.

Even basic media facilitation was lacking, with several journalists reportedly denied access passes. This stands in stark contrast to earlier high-profile events like Formula One, which, despite facing financial scrutiny, were promoted with fanfare and media planning.

Notable moments from the event — such as international contestants dressed in traditional Telangana sarees, holding Bathukamma flowers, and dancing to folk tunes — went viral on social media but received no large-scale television coverage or official amplification.

Analysts believe that Revanth Reddy missed a valuable opportunity to elevate Hyderabad’s global profile. His government seems to have overlooked the event’s strategic potential for tourism, branding, and global engagement.

“As someone like Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would have shown, events of this scale can be powerful PR tools if handled with vision,” an analyst noted.
