Firebrand MLA from the Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad, T Raja Singh, who recently resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) — a resignation that was readily accepted by the party — is now making desperate efforts to rejoin.
According to sources, Raja Singh has been lobbying with several national BJP leaders in hopes of being taken back into the party, as he is keen to retain his assembly membership.
Reports indicate that some BJP leaders in Delhi are mediating with the top leadership on his behalf.
There is growing speculation in Goshamahal that Raja Singh may soon receive an invitation from BJP leaders in Delhi and is likely to make a final decision about rejoining after meeting with them.
“I expect to be called by senior BJP leaders in Delhi in the next couple of days. Once I convey my concerns to them, I will have clarity on rejoining the BJP,” he said.
Raja Singh asserted that there will be no by-election under any circumstances for the Goshamahal Assembly seat.
He criticized those spreading rumors about a possible bypoll on social media, calling it unnecessary and misleading.
Regarding the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election, he said he would be willing to campaign if the BJP candidate personally invited him.
He added that while the BJP's state leadership may have sidelined him, many within the party still value his contribution.
He also remarked that several BJP MPs and MLAs in Telangana are unhappy with the party's internal dynamics but are reluctant to voice their concerns.
He claimed that his campaigning in other states had significantly boosted the BJP's vote share.
Raja Singh stated he is fully aware of the conspiracies being plotted against him and affirmed that he remains in contact with several Union Ministers.
Refuting rumors that he plans to join Shiv Sena, TDP, or Jana Sena, he clarified that these parties are BJP allies and such reports are unfounded.
Interestingly, he also praised the new Telangana BJP president, N. Ramachandra Rao, and expressed confidence that the party would come to power under his leadership.
