KCR to keep up Konaipally, Husnabad sentiments!

KCR to keep up Konaipally, Husnabad sentiments!

Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is known for strong beliefs not only in Hindu customs and rituals, but also in sentiments attached to these customs.

Whenever he wants to begin any programme or take any new decisions or launch any new projects, KCR will perform Yagams or visit temples or ashrams to seek divine blessings.

If the Congress party has a sentiment towards Chevella assembly constituency to launch any programme, KCR has a sentiment towards Lord Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Konaipally of Nanganuru mandal in Siddipet district.

Before filing his nomination as an MLA candidate in any election, KCR has been going to this temple since 1983 to offer special prayers at the Konaipalli Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple.

He would place his nomination papers before the god and perform special puja, before submitting the same in the Siddipet municipal office.

He has been following the sentiment since he was contesting as an MLA from Siddipet and he continued the tradition even if changed his constituencies like Karimnagar, Medak and Mahabubnagar.

After starting off with a loss in 1983, Chandrashekhar Rao has never looked back, winning the next eight times he was in the fray. During these four decades, he has continued visiting the Konaipally Temple the day he files his nomination.

On November 9 this time too, the Chief Minister will visit the temple in the morning to offer special prayers. Later, he will proceed to Gajwel to file his nomination for the third consecutive time before heading to Kamareddy, from where he will be contesting for the first time.

Another tradition KCR has been following is to launch his election campaign from Husnabad. In 2014 and 2018, he had addressed his first campaign meetings in Husnabad. Both the elections saw the TRS (now BRS) emerging victorious.

This time, too, KCR will have his first election campaign from Husnabad on October 15.

Husnabad MLA Vodithela Sathish Kumar said the first public meeting of the Chief Minister from his constituency had worked well for him too. He won the 2018 election with a record 70,000 vote majority.
