KCR skips voting for federal front!

It looks like lobbying with other political parties to form a federal front is more important for Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao than casting his valuable vote.

Normally, KCR does not avoid exercising his franchise at his native village Chintamadaka under any circumstances.

But this time, he and his wife Shobha conveniently skipped the elections to zilla parishad and mandal parishad elections and flew to Thuruvananthapuram to meet Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Apparently, KCR felt that discussions on federal front was more important than participating in voting. Ironically, the TRS chief regularly preaches people about the importance and power of vote in democracy.

Naturally, the Congress found fault with the chief minister for disrespecting his Constitutional obligation, especially in the local body elections, where every vote counts.

“As chief minister, KCR should set an example for others by exercising his franchise. He has sent a wrong message to the people by not casting his vote,” Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Shravan Dasoju said.

“KCR should not forget that he became the CM because of the votes given to his party by the people. A person who takes vote light has no right to seek votes”, he said.
