Grand goals okay, but what about old promises?

Grand goals okay, but what about old promises?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao, known for his pungent comments against the political rivals in general and the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre, was at it again on Wednesday.

He took to twitter to make sarcastic comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the latter’s emotional Independence Day speech in New Delhi, where he announced grand goals by 2047, the 100th year of Indian independence.

While complimenting the Prime Minister for his grand goals for 2047, KTR sought to know what had happened to the past promises made by the Prime Minister for August 15, 2022.

The minister shared images of news reports about Prime Minister’s promises to double the farmers’ income by 2022, bullet trains operations by 2022, India’s economy to be five trillion dollar by 2022 and housing for every Indian by 2022, on Twitter.

He tweeted “New goals for 2047 is great. But what about your past promises for August 15, 2022 honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji? Nation wants to know”.

KTR further tweeted “Where is the accountability if you don’t even acknowledge your own targets and subsequent failures in accomplishing the same?”

Continuing his tirade, the Minister later in the day, slammed the BJP Government for its double standards on ensuring welfare of the women.

Replying to a tweet on the release of 11 convicts, who were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Bono gang rape case, by Gujarat Government under its remission policy, the minister tweeted “Bhashan: “Respect Women”. Kaam: Release 11 Rapists using Gujarat Govt’s power of remission on the same day home state of PM leading by example.”
