Fact Sheet: Ex-TRS MLA Missing, Cops Clueless

The sudden disappearance of former Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Manthani in Peddapalli district and present Zilla Parishad chairman Putta Madhukar from his house a week ago has triggered uproar in the state political circles.

Madhukar has been facing allegations of perpetrating the murder of advocate couple Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife Nagamani in March. His nephew and close associates were arrested by the police in connection with the murder case.

Interestingly, Madhukar went missing on the same day when the government initiated a probe into the alleged land encroachments by senior TRS leader and former health minister Eatala Rajender, with whom he had close relations.

The Ramagundam police, however, said they had no information about the missing of Madhukar as there was no such complaint from any of the family members. His gunmen also are said to be with him.

According to the TRS sources, Madhu left his official vehicle and left in his personal vehicle to an unknown place. Apparently, the police investigating the advocate couple murder case found some conclusive evidence with regard to Madhukar’s role and this was leaked to him by some senior official. This prompted him to go into underground.

It is believed that Madhukar had gone to some place in Maharashtra, as was evident from the mobile signal tracked by the police a few days ago. However, the phone got switched off later.

Later, he reportedly came to Hyderabad to meet another minister Koppula Eshwar but went back to unknown place when the talks did not materialise.
