When Y S Rajasekhara Reddy assumed power in 2004, he initially faced negative feedback from the public for various reasons. Eventually when he took strong steps towards naxals and welfare schemes, impression changed.
In fact, it was Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who laid the foundation for the eradication of Naxalism within just one year of taking office.
After that with revolutionary schemes like Arogya Sri he became a god of many.
Similarly, Telangana’s current Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, is treading a comparable path.
He too received a wave of negative talk in the initial days of his tenure, including criticism related to the “HYDRA” issue.
However, he has since channeled his efforts into cracking down on illegal constructions, thereby creating fear among those involved in land grabbing.
His political maneuvering is also earning him a good name, and he is gradually making inroads with the public.
If he maintains this momentum and manages things well, he could remain strong going into the next elections.
On the other hand, the BRS, which became active within the first year of Revanth Reddy’s rule, appears to have lost steam due to internal issues.
If the party regains its strength before the elections and effectively counters Revanth Reddy, the political battle could be intense.
Otherwise, Revanth Reddy seems to be steadily advancing on the path to retaining power.
