Ex-MLA slams BRS leadership for chaos in party

Former Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju, who resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), made sensational remarks against the party on Wednesday, stating that the party leadership is incompetent and is resorting to conspiracies.

He told the reporters that the BRS leadership itself was responsible for his defeat in the last elections.

“The party is not playing the role of a true opposition, especially in standing up against injustice. The leadership should stand by workers during difficult times. Instead, it is engaging in a verbal war with the ruling party without addressing public needs,” he said.

Balaraju said he did not accept the offer of Rs 100 crore for defecting to the BJP during the farmhouse drama during the previous KCR regime.

“The BRS sought to project that I was offered Rs 100 crore. I speak the truth, and I won’t stop just because someone doesn’t like it,” he said.

He recalled how he always followed the instructions of K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in the past and stated his core focus remains poverty eradication and public welfare.

Balaraju revealed that he had received invitations from both the BJP and Congress but is seeking a party where he can speak freely and continue representing people’s voice.

“I’ll soon decide my political path,” he said, calling upon the public to support him in his next move.

On August 4, Guvvala Balaraju submitted his resignation from the BRS party, sending a formal letter to party chief and former CM KCR.

Balaraju, a two-time MLA from Achampet in Nagarkurnool district, also resigned from his role as the district president of the party.

In his resignation letter, Balaraju explained that the decision to leave the party was not made lightly. After deep thought and consideration of various factors, he decided to part ways with a heavy heart.

Although it pained him to leave the party during tough times, Balaraju wrote that his departure was necessary for the sake of his political future.
