BSP leader trying for new political equations in T'gana?

Telangana IPS officer Dr R S Praveen Kumar, who opted for voluntary rtook a plunge into active politics by joining the Bahujan Samaj Party, is making all out efforts to take into confidence every section of people who matter in his political journey.

He is not confining himself only to Dalits, as he is aware that their support alone would not be sufficient to achieve his goal of securing power to the Bahujans.

He is contacting leaders of Backward Classes, Minorities and even tribal groups to win their support.

The other day, Praveen Kumar met All India Backward Classes Association leader R Krishnaiah and sought his advice on the struggle to achieve power for the weaker sections. Krishnaiah agreed to lend his support to the BSP leader.

In the next step, the retired IPS officer called on Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leader Manda Krishna Madiga, who underwent surgery in New Delhi for a fracture of his hip and sought his blessings to his movement.

On Thursday, Praveen Kumar met Pradesh Congress Committee official spokesman and national president of Mala Mahanadu Addanki Dayakar. This led to the talk that he is trying for new political equations in Telangana.

Praveen Kumar said he had been trying to meet Dayakar for a long time and finally got a chance to discuss the political strategies with him.

“Dayakar is not just a leader of Mala Mahanadu, but a leader with broader perspective. We discussed on the strategies to bring all the sections of Dalits together,” he said.

Dayakar said despite being a Congress leader, he had a meeting with Praveen Kumar to discuss the subjects of common interest.

“We shall extend support to him on Dalit issues. I wish he will succeed in politics and I foresee an opportunity to work with him,” he said, indicating that the Congress might explore the option of joining hands with the BSP in Telangana.
