Ch Malla Reddy, a BRS MLA from Medchal and chairman of the Malla Reddy Group of Educational Institutions, is reportedly considering a switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party, if recent developments are any indication.
On Friday, his daughter-in-law Preeti Reddy, who has recently shown interest in politics, visited the BJP state office in Nampally and held discussions with senior party leaders.
Her visit comes amid growing speculation that Malla Reddy may soon join the BJP.
In recent weeks, both mainstream and social media have been abuzz with reports of his possible entry into the party, especially after his meeting with Narendra Modi in New Delhi on April 22, along with his family members.
While Malla Reddy told the media that the meeting with the Prime Minister was to invite him to an AI summit being hosted by his educational group, he did not clarify why his family members, including Preeti Reddy, were also present.
Preeti Reddy has recently been seen aligning closely with the BJP, praising its developmental programmes, expressing right-wing views, and even referring to Hyderabad as “Bhagyanagar.” There is also speculation that she may be planning to contest from Karnataka.
Clarity on Malla Reddy’s political move is expected in the coming days.
Some reports suggest that he may remain in the BRS while facilitating his daughter-in-law’s entry into the BJP, possibly to maintain influence in both parties.
