BRS afraid of debate in assembly over Kaleshwaram!

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, the main opposition in Telangana, appears to be afraid of facing the onslaught from the ruling Congress in the state assembly, where the discussion on Justice P C Ghose Commission on Kaleshwaram is expected to come up on Monday.

The BRS, which failed to get favourable response in the state high court in getting the Ghose Commission report quashed recently, once again moved the court in a desperate bid to stall the discussion in the assembly.

On Saturday, BRS leader and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao moved a yet another lunch motion petition in the state high court seeking a direction to the state government not to table the Kaleshwaram commission report in the state assembly.

The petition is presently in the examination of the high court registry. This clearly shows that the BRS doesn’t want any kind of discussion in the assembly, as it would expose the alleged irregularities committed during the KCR regime, sources said.

On the other hand, Harish Rao demanded that if the government tables the report in the state assembly, the BRS should be given a chance to make a power point presentation in the assembly explaining the party stand.

But the speaker has not given permission, stating that there is no precedence of the opposition making power point presentations in the assembly.

“This clearly shows that the government is afraid that the BRS would disclose the factual position on Kaleshwaram,” Harish Rao said, in an attempt to turn the tables on the government.
