The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), unlikely to form an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming elections, is preparing to contest independently in the event of a potential split with the Jana Sena Party led by Pawan Kalyan.
In this scenario, the BJP's entire campaign for the upcoming elections will focus solely on highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi government rather than launching direct attacks on the YSR Congress party led by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
A BJP leader stated, "The party aims to appeal for a positive vote based on the performance of the Narendra Modi government, rather than adopting a negative campaign against the Jagan government. Nevertheless, we will highlight the shortcomings in the Jagan government and its potential misuse of central schemes and funds."
The party may also raise concerns related to the Hindu community, such as the appointment of individuals with questionable backgrounds in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and incidents of temple desecration. However, it will refrain from attacking the Jagan government on issues such as corruption and lawlessness in the state.
Addressing a meeting in Vijayawada, BJP state president Daggubati Purandeshwari mentioned that her party would extensively inform the public about the recent reduction of LPG prices by Rs 200, a boon granted by the Modi government.
"We will emphasize issues such as the financial assistance provided by the central government to Andhra Pradesh during Jagan's tenure and the diversion of funds to other schemes. Additionally, we will campaign on the various other positive initiatives undertaken by the central government in Andhra Pradesh, including housing for weaker sections and the empowerment of gram panchayats," Purandeshwari stated.
She declined to respond to negative comments made by YSRCP general secretaries V Vijay Sai Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy regarding the release of a Rs 100 coin in tribute to N T Rama Rao.
