Beer Shortage Disappoints Hyderabad Patrons

Hyderabad: Beer enthusiasts in the city, particularly those who favor lite beer, are feeling let down this summer. Their go-to beverage is absent from almost all retail outlets and bars.

Most wine shops are displaying "no beer" signs. Only the premium brands, which cost three times more than regular beer, are available.

Many are voicing their frustration over this baffling shortage, which has not been addressed by the Telangana State Beverage Corporation.

It seems the corporation, responsible for distributing to licensed outlets after purchasing from manufacturers, has not settled its previous bills.

This situation has caused a great deal of frustration at many liquor outlets.

"We pay so much in taxes and duties on alcoholic beverages. Being forced to choose only premium brands, which neither suit our taste nor our budget, is an unfair trade practice seemingly endorsed by the government," commented one disappointed beer patron.

Businessmen and liquor outlet owners from Hyderabad have requested the State government to take necessary steps to see there is a continuous supply of beer as per the demand.
