Purna Chandra Badavath, the man accused in connection with the death by suicide of TV news anchor Swetcha Votarkar, surrendered to Chikkadpally police on Saturday night.
Accompanied by his lawyers, Purna Chandra arrived at the police station and was taken into custody. He is currently being questioned by investigators.
Swetcha Votarkar was found dead at her residence on Friday night.
Her parents have alleged that Purna Chandra’s actions and behavior drove their daughter to take the extreme step.
According to police, the news presenter died by suicide through hanging.
