Raptadu: A local leader of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) was today killed by unidentified persons in broad daylight here, police said.
Bhaskar Reddy, who was also Kistipadu Village Society President, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons when he was sitting in his office hear here, they said.
Anantapur SP Rajasekhar Babu visited the spot in Kistipadu village and asked police to apprehend the culprits within 24 hours.
YSRCP sources said political rivalry could have led to the murder as his election as Village Society President had not gone down well with his opponents. They suspect the role of a leading regional party in the killing.
