The Telangana government would offer a memorial award every year in the name of noted Telangana poet Dasarathi Krishnamacharya. The government would name one university or an educational institution in Telangana after Dasarathi.
This was declared by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, while inaugurating 89th birth anniversary celebrations of Dasarathi at Ravindra Bharathi on Tuesday.
He recalled Dasarathis yeomen’s services for the spread of Telugu literature and culture across the globe, observed , Alleging there are many ‘useless’ statues on the Tank Bund, KCR said his government will soon install a statue of Dasarathi there for Telugu pride.
Expressing concern over his failure to get back to literary and cultural programs as he was busy in politics, KCR promised to offer a government job to Dasarathi’s son, whose family is facing acute financial crisis.
