Naidu rejected Rs 9000 cr from Centre!

Bharatiya Janata Party has accused Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of rejecting financial assistance of Rs 9,000 crore offered to the state by the Centre towards externally aided projects.

Senior BJP leader and MLA Akula Satyanarayana alleged that Naidu was giving importance for his own political interests by ignoring the state interests.

“The chief minister is not accepting an amount of Rs 9,000 crore sanctioned by the Centre. All that the Centre asked him is to create a pecial Purpose Vehicle through which the assistance could be routed through it, but Naidu has rejected it,” he said.

The BJP leader found fault with the TDP MPs for opposing the subsidies earmarked for industries. The MPs had earlier agreed to these subsidies.

He accused Naidu of misleading the people on Special Category Status (SCS) to capture power again in 2019 Assembly elections.

The Central government came forward with special package covering all benefits guaranteed under the SCS and Naidu also agreed to this package all these years.

Now, Naidu took U-turn and insisting on SCS to get political mileage, he said.

The BJP MLA charged Naidu with spending crores of rupees in the name of Deekshas. How could he spend so much on Deekshas when he was claiming that the state was passing through financial crisis, he questioned.

Meanwhile, Uttarandha Charcha Vedika convenor and former minister Konathala Ramakrishna filed a petition in the high court questioning the Centre for taking back Rs 350 crore released by the Centre for the development of backward areas of north coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

He found fault with the Centre for withdrawing the released amount on the ground that it had not given approval by the Prime Minister’s Office.
