MLAs Disrupting Governor's Speech To Face 1-Yr Suspension In TS Assembly!

Fresh from the thumping victory in all elections in Telangana, the ruling TRS government has tightened norms for MLAs in Telangana Legislative Assembly to corner Opposition parties.

From the ensuing budget session in March, if any MLA tries to disrupt the Governor's speech on the opening day of Assembly session, he/she would be suspended for one year.

It's a routine phenomenon in any state wherein Opposition MLAs obstruct Governor's speech by raising slogans against ruling party. They tear the Govenor's speech copies and throw at him and treasury benches to lodge their protest over ruling party failing to fulfill its promises given during elections.

However, the TRS government has decided not to allow this kind of ruckus anymore in Telangana Assembly. The Assembly ethics committee met here today and took this decision.

It was also decided not to allow MLAs to display placards or any items to lodge their protest in the House. Members resorting to these acts would also be suspended.

The Opposition parties which are already lying low due to successive defeats at the hands of TRS, would be pushed to the corner further with these tighter norms in Assembly.

They simply have to confine to their seats in the House and keep quiet. If they try to create ruckus, they have to face suspension.
