A 20-year-old boy from Noida, Deepak, was shocked to see Rs 1.13 lakh crore suddenly credited to his late mother’s savings account.
In fact, even the richest in the world doesn't hold this much amount in Savings account, but holds in investments, assets and other deposits.
The account, which belonged to Gayatri Devi who passed away two months ago, was only used for small online transactions.
Deepak was confused by the huge amount and even asked his friends to count the zeroes in the message he received.
The next morning, he visited the Kotak Mahindra Bank branch in Greater Noida. The bank staff confirmed the massive balance but had no explanation for how it appeared.
They immediately froze the account to prevent any possible misuse and reported the incident to the authorities for further action.
The Income Tax Department has now started an investigation. They suspect it could be a banking error, a technical glitch, or even a case of money laundering.
The news has gone viral on social media, with people making jokes about Deepak becoming richer than Mukesh Ambani.
