CM Conducts Son's Marriage at Mass Wedding

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chose to conduct his younger son’s wedding as part of a mass marriage ceremony in his hometown of Ujjain, aiming to promote simplicity and social equality.

His son, Dr. Abhimanyu Yadav, married Dr. Ishita Patel alongside 21 other couples at a mass wedding held on the banks of the Kshipra River on Sunday.

The event featured traditional elements such as grooms arriving on horseback and brides in decorated carriages, accompanied by processions from their families.

The ceremony avoided all forms of extravagance. A large temporary stage was set up at the venue to serve as shared marriage mandaps for all the couples.

Multiple domes and hospitality arrangements were made for guests, including several VIPs.

Family members of the chief minister said the decision to hold Junior Yadav’s wedding in a mass ceremony was meant to discourage lavish celebrations and encourage social equality. Simple wedding invitation cards were sent to the guests.

Dignitaries who attended the event included Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and several state ministers.

Mohan Yadav is the first chief minister to conduct his son’s wedding as part of a mass marriage ceremony.
