Relations between the YSRCP and the TDP are at an all-time low following the assassination attempt on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In fact, the YSRCP supremo has lost complete faith in all constituional institutions under the TDP.
Not only does his Party not attend the Assembly or any conclave organised by the TDP, Jagan has made it clear that he has no faith in any investigation undertaken by the AP Police under the instructions of Chandrababu Naidu.
Since the time NTR founded the TDP, relations between the Congress and TDP have always been strained and now, tempers are at an all-time high.
For example, when NTR was CM and subsequently Chandrababu Naidu, Rayalaseema factionist Paritala Ravi wrought havoc in Anantapur district and many Congressmen and rivals of Ravi were brutally hacked to death.
When YSR came to power, it was the turn of the Congress people and they mercilessly killed Ravi and his followers.
In all other aspects also, the game of vendetta has been going on with the score being in favour of the government in power.
But, by and large, the Reddy community that is strongly aligned to the YSRCP are furious at the attempt on YS Jagan’s life and they believe that the ruling Party has gone too far.
Subjected to all kinds of harassment by the Kammas in the TDP dispensation, they are waiting for Jagan Mohan Reddy to come back to power so that they can repay their debts with interest.
YSR and Chandrababu were bitter rivals but not to the point where they despised each other personally.
With YS Jagan and Chandrababu, it’s a different story and should the TDP fail to come to power, it could be the beginning of a long nightmare for the yellow gang.
