The Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday received unexpected revolt from YSR Congress party MP V Vijay Sai Reddy, who challenged the police to arrest him if they had guts.
“Yes, Lokesh is Pappu. It’s not just Ravi Kiran, even I am saying Lokesh is a dud. If you have guts, file a case against me,” Sai Reddy told the police, who raided the social media wing of the YSRC party office at Lotus Pond, hours after they let off Ravi Kiran Inturi, who was arrested for posting objectionable content on the Andhra Pradesh legislative council on his Facebook page Political Punch.
The police conducted some searches and questioned some staff members. When they came to know about it, Vijay Sai Reddy and Rajampet MP P Mithun Reddy, MLAs Srinivasulu, Anil Kumar Yadav and former MLA Kannababu and others rushed to the office and picked up argument with the police.
“I am the in-charge of all associated wings of the YSRC. If you can, take action against me but not Jagan’s fans who are running their Facebook pages,” Sai Reddy thundered.
He warned that the police against toeing the line of Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh and acting as their stooges.
The police then served a notice to the party's IT wing chief Challa Madhusudhan Reddy but the latter said Ravi Kiran had nothing to do with the party and was not on its payrolls.
The police said they were acting on a complaint filed by AP Assembly secretary Satyanarayana.
