The letter written by former Supreme Court judge and former Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju to President and Prime Minister demanding arrest of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and imposition of President’s rule in the state has boosted the morale of the YSR Congress party.
Since morning, YSRC leaders have been forwarding Justice Katju’s Facebook posting to media persons and lakhs of people using social media platforms.
And in the evening, YSRC legislator Alla Ramakrishna Reddy held a press conference and lashed out at the Chandrababu Naidu government for witch-hunting political satirist and social media activist Inturi Ravi Kiran.
Reacting to Justice Katju’s letter condemning the arrest of Ravi Kiran by the Naidu government for posting political satires in social media, the YSRC MLA from Mangalagiri wondered whether Naidu would order arrest of even Justice Katju.
“It is pretty evident that Naidu is muzzling the voice of people who question his corrupt government. He has curtailed the freedom of expression given to the people by the Indian Constitution. Who knows he might even sent Andhra police to America to arrest Justice Katju,” Alla said.
He advised the TDP president to respect the Constitution and rule the state as per the wishes of the people.
