Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader and former minister D K Aruna today faulted the TRS Government for failing to extend thanks to AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi for favoring statehood to Telangana Assembly.
Speaking to mediapersons in Assembly lobbies here, Aruna alleged that the TRS Government swiftly forgot AICC leadership at whose behest the statehood dream became true.
She said the first T Government should have taken steps in this regard. Had the first session of Telangana State Assembly passed a resolution extending thanks to Sonia Gandhi it would have been much better, she felt.
“It is due to Sonia Gandhi’s determination coupled with Centre’s efforts statehood reality became true”, Aruna said. The Congress will not hesitate to criticize the TRS Government if it adopts anti-people and anti-welfare policies.
“Being the responsible Opposition, we will extend cooperation with the government if takes up development programs and peoples’ welfare schemes”, she said.
