Why is Modi fond of frequent foreign visits?

The Congress party on Friday found fault with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for going on frequent tours abroad, while ignoring domestic problems.

Speaking to the media  at Gandhi Bhavan here  on Friday, former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar criticized that Modi was merely contented with announcing schemes like Swachcha Bharath and Sansad Aadhars Gram yojana, but did not fulfill the poll promises made by the BJP.

The Prime minister's graph was falling day by day with his policies, the Congress leader observed.

He said that the activities of central government including working against the interests of farmers in the country, promoting industrialization at the cost of poor and tiny land holders, forming government with coalition of PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, and accusing former PM Manmohan Singh with wasted interests etc. were tarnishing the prime minister's image drastically.

He regretted that if the proposed amendments to the Land Acquisition Act were passed, then large sections of farmers in the country would get affected.
