Any Party hopeful of coming to power or striking a chord with the public normally directs its attention to the misdeeds of the ruling Party.
But the Congress Party in the State is surprisingly ignoring the TDP and focusing its attention more on the YSRCP and Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The reason is now clear: a possible poll alliance with the TDP. Also, the Congress believes that the majority of its cadre is now with YS Jagan whereas the TDP has its own cadre.
Therefore, whether the TDP comes to power or not will in no way affect the prospects of Congress revival in Andhra Pradesh.
But the Congress believes that if YS Jagan loses in 2019, his followers will gradually come back to its camp.
Hence, the TDP needs to defeat Jagan to retain power and the Congress needs Jagan to lose in the hope that it will get back some leaders.
With their objective being the same, is it any wonder then that the Congress has upped the ante against Jagan?
However, the ultimate decision is that of the people when they exercise their franchise in 2019.
