What Did Naidu Talk Privately With Modi?

The private conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu after the dinner meeting of National Democratic Allies in New Delhi on Monday night has led to a lot of speculations in the media circles, though nobody could guess and report it.

Soon after the meeting of NDA allies, Naidu requested Modi for a private conversation for a few minutes.

Modi had obliged and both of them had moved to a corner table where they had one-on-one meeting for about 5-10 minutes. Nobody from the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Telugu Desam Party was allowed to join the conversation.

Naturally, it has led to several speculations. One: Naidu might have requested Modi to use his good offices and bail him out from the cash for vote scandal, which has now gone to the Supreme Court.

Secondly, Naidu might have requested Modi not to entertain YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s feelers at any cost, since the TDP will continue to be a loyal ally of the BJP.

He is learnt to have asked the Prime Minister to see that the CBI probe into Jagan’s alleged illegal assets case be expedited so that he would be convicted before 2019 elections.

Thirdly, the TDP president might have requested Modi to consider appointment of senior TDP leader Mothukupalli Narasimhulu as the Governor of some state or the other, as several Governor posts are getting vacated now.

Fourthly, Naidu might have asked Modi to give cabinet berth to one more MP in the proposed reshuffle of the NDA cabinet.

Well, anybody can guess any one of these four options!
