We will get out of alliance first, says BJP!

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh has proposed to the party high command in Delhi that the party should break the alliance with the TDP first, before the latter does it making false allegations against the Centre.

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao told media in Amaravati on Monday that majority of the state BJP leaders who had a meeting on Sunday expressed view that it would be better if the party severed its alliance with the TDP, which was criticising the saffron party in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular.

“We have nothing to lose if we break the alliance with the TDP. In fact, it is a loss to the TDP. If the TDP breaks the alliance, we have other friendly parties to join the alliance,” Manikyala Rao said.

He said the state BJP had put forth two options before the high command.

"First, the BJP should break the alliance with the TDP first, instead of waiting for the TDP to come out of the alliance.

Alternatively, if the BJP wants to continue alliance with the TDP, it should send finance minister Arun Jaitely to the state and he should address a public meeting to explain what financial assistance the Centre had given to the state in the last three and a half years," the endowments minister said.

He also made it clear that it was a matter of minutes to tender resignations for the cabinet posts in the state, if the high command asked them to do so.
