With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu's involvement being clear in the 'note for vote' case and with the ACB naming Babu at least 22 times in their charge-sheet, the opposition parties are focusing on the issue during Assembly sessions.
Opposition leader in AP assembly YS Jagan alleged that apart from being caught red-handed in the note for vote case in Telangana, he is also involved in taking huge bribes from the sand mafia.
Once Jagan started his speech about special status, the TDP leaders immediately got up and tried to cut down his speech. In fact, BJP leader Vishnu Raju pointed out that it would be best if Jagan kept to his agenda and talked only about special status.
Meanwhile TDP MLA K Venkata Rao said that if Jagan is so keen to talk about corruption, then the House could discuss the Rs 1 lakh crore scam involving him. Rao further alleged that Jagan was the very person who was trying to grab the CM's post after his father and late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy's death.
Reflecting similar opinion was BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas who said that it would be best to talk only about special status. He added that Jagan was raking up the issue only to gain political mileage and revealed that the CM of AP was equally sad about the way bifurcation was handled. Srinivas said has the clause for special status been included in bifurcation act, then it wouldn't given rise to so many problems.
Not stopping there, Srinivas admonished Jagan saying that while Jagan had all liberty to speak whatever came to his mind during his now popular 'odaarpu yatralu', he had no right to make such comments on the floor of the House.
He also criticised Jagan for having to go to the court every Friday and concluded that development of Andhra Pradesh is possible only if TDP and BJP work in tandem.
When Jagan got the opportunity to raise his voice, he once again alleged that Babu and his team were splurging the money they made from taking heavy bribes.
Jagan also wondered how the government can explain spending Rs 8 crores on one megawatt of power in Krishnapatnam power plant.
Jagan pointed out that ACB chargesheeted Babu and mentioned his name at least 22 times in the chargesheet. He reminded the House that the audio tapes clearly showed Babu saying 'my people briefed me'.
Meanwhile, speaker Kodela cut him short and gave Dhulipala Narendra chance to talk. This offended the opposition leaders and they raised slogans calling out 'votuki kotlu'.
