After initial no, it was yes and then, finally it ended up as no. This was the position as regards the contest of popular actress and former MP Vijayashanti.
The star campaigner of the Congress party finally decided against contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana.
Till the other day, there was a talk that Vijayashanti would contest from Medak assembly constituency.
She also gave enough hints to that effect. It had put the Congress high command on tenterhooks as alliance partner Telangana Jana Samithi also was asking for the same seat.
But when her name did not figure in the Congress first list, it surprised everybody and it was revealed that Vijayashanti opted out of the race and Medak seat was allotted to TJS.
She told media on Tuesday that the Congress did not give her ticket only as per her wishes.
"The Congress leadership approached me offering the ticket to contest in the elections. But I have the responsibility of campaigning for elections. So I couldn't accept the offer" she said.
She further said that the Congress cannot be held responsible for her decision.
