Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu always claims that he was the one who developed Hyderabad as a global city and that it had gained a place on the global map because of his efforts.
But Naidu’s own friend and union minister M Venkaiah Naidu gave him a shocker by mentioning the name of former Congress chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy as one of the architects of modern Hyderabad.
Participating in a meeting at Vijayawada, Venkaiah said it was not so easy to develop a capital city on the lines of international cities. He found fault with some political parties to hoodwink the people saying that Amaravati would become another Hyderabad overnight.
“Hyderabad could witness so much development in the last two decades only because of the efforts made by Chandrababu Naidu, Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and others,” he said.
It was definitely a pot shot at Naidu, who likes to take credit for everything. However, nobody can deny the contribution made by YSR for Hyderabad.
It was because of his efforts that the city could get prestigious projects like Outer Ring Road, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, BITS, IIT and P V Narasimha Rao Express Way.
Can Naidu deny that?
