TRS Defends BJP Stand On EVMs!

At a time when the opposition parties across the country have started raising a hue and cry over the alleged possibility of tampering of EVMs, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi came in defence of Bharatiya Janata Party’s stand on the issue.

Following a sensational disclosure by a Cyber Expert Syed Shuja at a press conference in London that the BJP had come to power at the Centre in 2014 due to large scale tampering of EVMs using certain technology, all the opposition leaders including Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu cried foul.

Naidu even went to the extent of calling for a meeting of all the anti-BJP parties again in New Delhi on Wednesday and deciding to meet the Election Commission to represent on doing away with the EVMs.

However, TRS refused to join the issue.

“We have no problems with the EVMs. In fact, we prefer EVMs and do not want to restoration of ballot system. We are satisfied with the explanation given by the Election Commisison in this regard and we have met the EC several times in this regard,” TRS MP from Karimnagar B Vinod Kumar said.

Stating that the TRS was completely satisfied with the performance of EVMs in the recent assembly elections in Telangana, Vinod said some people who got disappointed with the defeat in the elections only were criticising the EVMs. “We don’t want to join the issue. This is our party’s stand,” he said.

He reiterated that the federal front proposed by KCR was going to take a shape soon.

“There are many parties in the federal front. Chandrababu Naidu does not know how many parties are supporting us,” he said.
