TDP's Counter Strategy Against Opposition Parties

The issue of loan waivers has taken a new turn in Andhra Pradesh. In a strange turn of events, Andhra Pradesh government is now gearing up to launch a full-blown attack against the opposition parties saying that they stalled the process of loan waivers.

The idea was triggered by Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Uma Maheswara Rao who alleged that the opposition parties were providing wrong information to RBI and this was delaying the process of loan waivers. Though he did not specifically name one party, he said that faxes were being sent from Hyderabad to RBI with information meant to misguide the Apex Bank.

Similarly, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu criticized the opposition parties that they were not happy with the efforts being made by the ruling party to resolve the issue of loan waivers.

On the other hand, in the latest move, Agricultural Minister Prattipati Pullarao also accused the opposition parties of providing wrong information to RBI.

Taking offence to the allegations, YSRCP strongly condemned these statements and said that the ruling party must provide adequate proof before making baseless allegations.

Another important question is, will RBI consider information provided by third parties?

However, it has to be recollected that the RBI had procured information through its sources, apart from the information provided by both the governments, and took a decision to reschedule loans in seven districts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Congress leaders alleged that the TDP was trying to push the blame on to the opposition parties as it is unable to resolve the loan waiver issue.

It remains to be seen how people will react to this latest strategy of TDP.
