TDP To Shift NTR Bhavan To Amaravati?

TDP To Shift NTR Bhavan To Amaravati?

Now, it is more or less certain that the Telugu Desam Party is planning to wind up its shop in Telangana, as party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has realised that there are hardly any chances of the party regaining its glory in the new State.

So, Naidu is learnt to have decided to shift his party headquarters from NTR Bhavan in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, to Amaravati, the new capital of AP.

Construction giant L&T, which had constructed the NTR Bhavan (allegedly free of cost), will construct a replica of the same somewhere nearer to the temporary Secretariat complex in Amaravati.

The task of construction of the new party headquarters has been entrusted to Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, sources said, adding that it would be completed within six months.

Apparently, Naidu realised that it is very difficult to oversee TDP activities in AP from party headquarters in Hyderabad, once the administration gets shifted to the Secretariat complex by June.

Since the TDP has hardly any presence in Telangana, there is no point in hanging around Hyderabad just for the sake of party headquarters. So, it is better to shift the party office to Amaravati itself, he is learnt to have felt.

The existing building in Banjara Hills would be used to continue the NTR Memorial Trust activities, besides a small portion for Telangana TDP office.

Since the local party unit has to be maintained to sustain national party status to the TDP, it would be overseen by local leaders like Revanth Reddy and L Ramana.

On and off, Naidu can come and visit the party office to review the activities, say sources.
