TDP Planning New Strategy On Roja!

TDP Planning New Strategy On Roja!

Now that YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja has got relief from the High Court, which stayed her suspension from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for a period of one year, political observers are keenly watching as to how the ruling Telugu Desam Party would handle her in the coming days.

Immediately after the single-judge bench of the High Court delivered its interim orders staying her suspension on Thursday, Minister for Legislative Affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu closeted with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the future course of action.

One of the options, as disclosed by TDP legislator Bonda Uma, is that the government would move the division bench of the High Court and get the stay vacated. If it does not happen, it would move the Supreme Court.

However, Yanamala is learnt to have come out with an interesting suggestion. Instead of challenging the single-judge bench order, the government would allow Roja into the Assembly.

Naturally, she would put up an aggressive posture and make nuisance in the House. If she does not do it, the TDP members themselves would provoke her to cross the line. Once she falls into their trap, the Speaker would suspend her for the rest of the session.

The same strategy would be adopted in every Assembly session and the TDP would ensure that Roja gets suspended on the day one itself, so that she would get suspended for the entire session.

Since the suspension is the prerogative of the Speaker, the courts would not interfere in this regard. At the most, there will be three Assembly sessions every year and Roja would not be allowed to enter the House using this suspension strategy!
