Come September 5, TDP’s senior leader, ex minister and a key player in Khammam district’s politics, Tummala Nageswara Rao will be joining TRS.
Tummala has already met up with T CM K Chandra Sekhara Rao many times and he has been preparing the ground to join TRS formally on September 5.
It is being said that though Tummala lost during the recent elections, he had agreed to jump into TRS after being promised a minister’s post in the state cabinet. For the same, Tummala will be made an MLC.
Meanwhile, there are strong rumours that owing to developments in Hyderabad, another TDP leader Talasani Srinivasa Yadav is likely to follow Tummala into TRS. Two more MLAs from TDP and Congress MLCs will be joining TRS soon.
Recently, Talasani had taken his supporters to the CM’s camp office and made a small speech and went on to meet the CM. He had discussed various issues with the CM and it is being said that the CM had promised minister’s post and mayor’s post to a person nominated by Talasani.
TRS members say KCR is keen on attracting the social community of Talasani as they play an important role in city politics.
With an eye on GHMC polls, KCR is said to have decided to rope in both Tummala and Talasani promising them cabinet berths.
