The Telangana Congress leaders are terribly disappointed with the response of the Congress high command for ignoring the party affairs in the region.
While the party leadership has already lost hope on the Seemandhra region, it seems to have left the field even in the Telangana region to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Bharatiya Janata Party. This was evident from the way party president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi had chosen to campaign in the Telangana region only in the last week of April.
“It would been better if Sonia kicks up her camapaign in the Telangana first, as it would create a favourable atmosphere for the party in the region. Her visit should be followed up by Rahul. And Sonia and Rahul could visit the region in three or four different spells, which would help the party consolidate its position in the region,” a Telangana Congress leader said.
Unfortunately, Sonia and Rahul are so busy with their campaigning in the north that they scheduled their visits to Telangana only in third or fourth week of April. May be, they would address a few meetings on a single day.
“This will not help the party much. By that time, Modi would have visited Telangana at least two or three times and KCR would have covered all parts,” the Telangana leader lamented.
