Surveys predict TRS scraping through!

Surveys predict TRS scraping through!

It looks like Telangana Rashtra Samithi is going to retain power in Telangana with a slender margin in the just concluded assembly elections in the state, much to the disappointment of Maha Kootami or grand alliance of four opposition parties.

Almost all the surveys conducted by various agencies for national channels have predicted that the TRS would be able to return to power.

The CNX-Times Now survey has predicted that the TRS would win a maximum of 66 seats while the absolute majority mark is 60 in the 119-member assembly.

It said the Maha Kootami will end up with just 37 seats, the BJP will improve its tally to seven and others seven.

It is not exactly known whether the channel has included the seven MIM seats also with the TRS tally or they will be part of the “others” category.

The Republic TV came up with a strange statistics. It said the TRS will get 52-65 seats, whereas Maha Kootami will get 36-52 seats. The BJP will get 5-7 seats, while the others including MIM will get 8-14 seats.

The CNN has also predicted that the TRS would get 50-65 seats, while the Maha Kootami will get 38-52 seats. News X predicts 57 seats to TRS and 46 to Kootami. India Today also made a similar prediction.

India Today went a step further and said the TRS would win 79-91 seats, while Kootami will get only 21-33 seats. Ironically, it said the MIM will get four to seven seats and the BJP 1-3.

Axis survey agency has said the TRS would get 85 seats, while the Congress alliance will end up with 22 seats. VDP Associates predicted that TRS will get 55-65 seats and Kootami 34-44 seats.

In the 2014 elections, held in an undivided Andhra Pradesh, the TDP had contested the elections in alliance with the BJP. However, this time, the TDP has decided to go with the Congress and be a part of the Congress-led Grand alliance.
