After a long gap of nearly five years, Congress party president Sonia Gandhi is going to enter the Hyderabad and address a public meeting.
According to Congress party sources, there is going to be a massive public meeting in the city any time after Holi.
It would be organized by the Telangana Congress Committee headed by Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Sonia is understood to have agreed to attend the meeting and address the gathering.
This would be the first time Sonia would attend any meeting in the last five years. In fact, she came to Hyderabad only in September 2009 to pay floral tributes to late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
She came to Andhra Pradesh for a second time in April 2011 to pay tributes to late Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthy.
Except these two occasions, Sonia never thought of coming to the state despite a volatile situation.
Now that the Congress granted the Telangana State, she has decided to come to Hyderabad, obviously to woo the Telangana voters.
