Till the other day, YSR Congress party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy had been very active on the social media.
He used to be very aggressive in his attack on the Telugu Desam Party and was known for his sarcastic comments against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.
Almost on a daily basis, Sai Reddy used to take pot shots at the father-son duo, apart from, of course, highlighting the achievements of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government and the issues relating to the YSRC.
But for the last few days, the YSRC leader appears to have mellowed down to a large extent.
There have been no comments against Naidu or Lokesh or for that matter, the TDP, except perhaps one or two critical comments, that too, not so aggressively.
Sai Reddy is now mostly confined to conveying greetings and wishing the national leaders on birthdays and other such subjects on the social media, apart from the welfare schemes of the Jagan government.
One wonders why there is such a sudden change in Sai Reddy’s style with regard to social media postings. Enquiries revealed that the feedback he had received on his social media postings was not so appreciative.
In fact, many followers of Sai Reddy on Twitter had been expressing view that he should maintain dignity and stature and should not stoop down to the level of a local YSRC leader in attacking the TDP leadership.
“After all, people believe that Sai Reddy is No. 2 in the party and has a respectable figure both in the state and the Centre. So, they don’t relish substandard comments coming from him, while attacking the opposition. He should leave such criticism to lower rung leaders and maintain dignity in his social media postings,” an analyst said.
Apparently, because of this feedback, Sai Reddy has become quiet and has curtailed his sarcastic comments against Naidu and Lokesh.
