Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh is creating a strong impact in advance ticket sales, with worldwide bookings crossing the 20 Cr mark.
The film is witnessing a good pre-sales and is currently trending at the top on BookMyShow.
At the film’s release event, Naveen Yerneni revealed that their collaboration with Pawan Kalyan had been in the waiting for nearly six years, but was delayed due to COVID and the actor’s political commitments.
“We started the project last June. As a producer, I felt completely relaxed, and the main reason everything went so smoothly is Harish Shankar. He completed the film without a single issue. If every film goes this smoothly, we could easily produce 10–12 films a year.
I watched the film. From start to finish, it is engaging, entertaining, and emotional. It’s a complete family entertainer. Premieres will begin tomorrow morning at 5 AM. Harish Shankar behaves like a producer himself- he is truly a producers’ director.
We shot only 10 days in 2023, but once the shoot resumed last year, we completed the film in 70 working days. Pawan Kalyan took a very nominal advance, and till now, he hasn’t asked for his remuneration again. He worked 12–15 hours a day for this film. In recent times, he hasn’t looked this good on screen.”
Director Harish Shankar sounded extremely confident, saying Ugadi belongs to Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
“This is a full-fledged commercial entertainer from a big star after a long gap. Not just fans- general audiences will enjoy it thoroughly. There are songs, dances, dialogues, intense villain episodes, and full entertainment. There are adrenaline-pumping moments too.
We are releasing it with lower ticket prices. Earlier, I mentioned feeling tense, but after seeing how entertaining the film turned out, I am truly happy. This is a full-fledged entertainer for Pawan Kalyan fans.
I made the movie very fast, without wasting time or money. We planned everything carefully, and the biggest strength behind that planning was Pawan Kalyan. He always gave proper time. The producers at Mythri Movie Makers supported everything I asked for.
Special thanks to Thaman S, who joined at the last minute. He had to finish the sound work by the 16th, and he completed the BGM in just 10–12 days. For a movie filled with emotion, Thaman delivered a terrific soundscape. I will always remember the support he gave at the right time in my life.”
He also clarified there is no issue between Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman.
“DSP was given an award in honor of PB Srinivas, so he could not attend the pre-release event. After knowing this, Pawan Kalyan also felt happy.”
The director reiterated once again that Ustaad Bhagat Singh is not a remake, but an original story.
