Former YSR Congress party general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy, who resigned from the party and his Rajya Sabha membership in January this year, is now at virtual cross roads in his political career.
Though he declared that he was keeping away from active politics and would concentrate on farming, Sai Reddy made a desperate attempt to join the Bharatiya Janata Party to revive his political career.
He continues to make headlines with his tweets on various personalities and politics.
He made attempt to get closer to the BJP by tweeting in favour of the policies and programmes of the Narendra Modi government.
But there was no positive signal from the BJP and sources said the BJP is not entertaining his overtures.
Following this, there were rumours that he was trying to reestablish ties with YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Against this backdrop, Sai Reddy made an interesting tweet on his social media handle in “X” on Monday greeting All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge on the latter’s birthday.
“Warm birthday wishes to Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, one of the senior-most politicians in the country and the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha. Wishing him good health, happiness, and continued service to the nation. @kharge,” Sai Reddy tweeted, posting a big photograph of Kharge along with the tweet.
The tweet has now sparked political speculation and discussion on his changing stance and made people wonder whether he is trying to shifted gears and change the route.
This is basically because Sai Reddy never greeted Kharge, as he was known for his harsh criticism of the Congress leaders. This led to the talk whether Sai Reddy is considering looking up the Congress for his political revival.
At the same time, he also posted another tweet, cautioning the Congress and INDIA leaders.
“As the #MonsoonSession2025 of Parliament has commenced, I hope the proceedings remain constructive and uninterrupted,” he said.
He added: “Democracy is best served when the Government is held accountable through debate, not derailed by disorder and adjournments.”
