Politics is where there are no long-term friends or foes. There was a time when Telangana BJP leader Kishan Reddy was a close confidant of BJP’s national leader and union minister Venkaiah Naidu. When Venkaiah Naidu was the national-level president of BJP, Kishan Reddy worked as the national president of BJP’s yuva morcha.
However, once the Telangana issue came to the fore, they drifted apart as they could not see eye to eye on various issues including alliances.
Now the rift has widened to the extent that it has become too obvious for all to notice.
When Venkaiah Naidu came to Hyderabad after being sworn in as the union minister, he was welcomed with great fanfare. But Kishan Reddy was conspicuous by his absence.
It was said that Kishan Reddy had gone to Bengaluru on some personal work. But the talk in BJP is that he had consciously chosen to be absent.
On the other hand, two other senior leaders from Telangana, Bandaru Dattatreya and Lakshman took part in the rally to welcome Venkaiah.
