The Congress party seems to have decided to rejuvenate itself from Osmania University, which was once the nerve centre for Telangana movement, cashing in on the resentment brewing among the OU students against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.
AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi is learnt to have agreed to address a massive gathering at Osmania University by extending his full support to the students who have taken up cudgels against the KCR government.
On Friday, Rahul had a long interaction with OU students who met him in New Delhi, along with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Rahul termed the KCR government as a “Family-Government” assured that he would come to Telangana and fight for them with the state government over their demands, Uttam told media later.
He said Rahul had given a patient hearing to the students and assured to stand by them in achieving their demands.
He found fault with KCR government for harassing the students who fought for the bifurcation of the State.
Rahul’s presence in the State always add fresh energy in the cadre and with the support of Student leaders, Congress may be able to put pressure on the government.
