Power Of YSRCP In National Politics

The Centre's bill aimed at controlling services in Delhi is expected to smoothly pass both houses of parliament, thanks to the backing of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress Party.

The YSR Congress Party has decided to support the BJP-led government in parliament on two significant votes, including a no-confidence motion on Manipur.

With nine members in Rajya Sabha and 22 in Lok Sabha, the YSR Congress Party has consistently supported the government on critical bills.

With the support of YSR Congress Party members, the government can comfortably secure the passage of its contentious Delhi bill through Rajya Sabha, where it lacks a majority.

This bill replaces an ordinance for the control of Delhi's bureaucrats, which was issued by the Centre to override a Supreme Court order stating that the elected government in Delhi, not the Centre, should have control over the transfer and appointments of bureaucrats.

YSR Congress Party leader V Vijaysai Reddy stated, "We will vote in favor of the government on both issues," reaffirming their support.

In addition to assisting the government with the Delhi bill, the party's 22 MPs will also contribute to the government's count during the opposition-sponsored no-confidence vote in Lok Sabha on the Manipur crisis.

Two notices for a no-confidence motion have been accepted by the Lok Sabha Speaker, although it is expected to be defeated.
