Operation Sindoor: Dawood Ibrahim fled Pakistan?

India's covert Operation Sindoor has reportedly triggered widespread panic among terrorist operatives in Pakistan, with unconfirmed media reports suggesting that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim may have fled the country.

Dawood, long wanted by Indian authorities and believed to have been living in Karachi under the protection of Pakistan’s ISI, is said to have left along with his close aides Chota Shakeel and Munna Jhingra.

Various Indian media outlets, citing unnamed sources, claim the trio may have been moved either to a secret location within Pakistan or taken out of the country entirely by the ISI.

However, these reports remain speculative, with no official confirmation from Indian intelligence agencies.

This development comes in the wake of India’s precision air strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on the night of May 6–7, 2025.

The strikes were carried out in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 Indian lives. India’s Ministry of Defence described the operation as focused, measured, and aimed solely at terror infrastructure, avoiding civilian or military targets.

While some reports suggest Dawood is “on the run and fearing for his life,” others believe he is still in Pakistan but has abandoned his known hideouts.

Indian agencies are currently verifying intelligence inputs, but no official statement has been made regarding his whereabouts.

India has previously attempted covert missions to eliminate Dawood without success.

In light of Operation Sindoor’s precision and resolve, observers believe Pakistan may now be working harder to protect high-profile fugitives to avoid further international fallout.
