Agriculture Minister Pattipati Pullarao on Wednesday said that the Andhra Pradesh Government would waive off loans taken by nearly 40 per cent by October 15.
The minister gave this assurance was interaction with representatives of various associations of farmers.
He said that nearly 40 per cent farmers in the State had taken loans of less than Rs 50,000 each. Such loans will be waived off by October 15.
He said that the loans taken by remaining 60 per cent farmers too would be cleared at the earliest as the process has already been set in motion.
Pulla Rao said that the farmers need not worry about waiving off of their loans as the government was committed to fulfill its promise. He also assured that the government would resolve other problems being faced by the farmers' community.
