With the cash-for-note scam taking a new turn following the submission of report by the Forensic Science Laboratory to the court on voice samples, the Andhra Pradesh government fortified its security cover around Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
On Wednesday, the government shifted the police personnel belonging to all cadres and posted only AP police around Naidu.
About 40 police personnel of different cadre in the internal security wing of the Chief Minister were relieved of their duties. An Assistant Commissioner of Police cadre officer has been appointed as the incharge of the security wing.
Sources said that security personnel from Andhra Pradesh have been drafted for duty in and around the Chief Minister's residence but denied any potential threat to him.
It is learnt that the FSL examined several audio and video tape records and prepared a report and the same was sent to the ACB Court.
Sources claimed the FSL came to a conclusion that the voice in the audio and video tapes were of Chandrababu Naidu, who spoke to nominated Anglo-Indian MLA Elvis Stephenson during the murky deal.
It is learnt that the FSL also concluded that the audio voice was not tapped from any other source but it was recorded one in a mobile phone.
However, the government described it as routine affair. “We change security personnel on VVIP duty periodically and since the Section 8 issue is now getting heated up, we though it better to deploy police from AP," the sources said.
