No trust motion against KCR, a futile exercise!

No trust motion against KCR, a futile exercise!

The Congress party in Telangana might be brimming with confidence with the defection of Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy from the Telugu Desam Party, but it has apparently become over-confidence.

It was evident from the way the Congress Legislatue Party contemplating issuing a notice to Speaker for moving a no-confidence motion against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the assembly.

Strangely, the Congress has approached its bitter rivals, the TDP and the BJP, seeking support for moving the no-confidence motion.

The Congress, BJP and the TDP members even met Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and complained to him over the highhanded behavior of the TRS government.

“We cannot remain silent, if the government treats the assembly as its pocket outfit and stifles the voice of the opposition members. It has not given us sufficient time to speak on the farmers’ suicides. Hence, we are planning to move the no-confidence motion,” CLP leader K Jana Reddy said.

However, TRS leader and animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav wondered how the Congress party can move the no-confidence motion knowing fully well that the opposition does not have numbers to win the motion.

“This is ridiculous and waste of time and nothing will come out of it,” he said.

Even some Congress members are learnt to have expressed the same view, since it might send wrong signals to the people. But others say at least during the discussion on no-trust motion, the opposition members will get an opportunity to attack the government.
