No question of apologising in House: Roja

No question of apologising in House: Roja

Firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari in Chittoor district R K Roja on Tuesday refused to tender any apology in the House, saying the question does not arise as she did no mistake.

“Whatever I wanted to say, I have already given it in writing and also said orally before the assembly previleges committee. I have nothing more to say. I will not tender any apology in the House or elsewhere,” Roja said in the assembly premises at Amaravati.

She was referring to the comment made by minister for legislative affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu that Roja should tender an unconditional apology on the floor of the House, if she has to avoid suspension for one more year.

The report of the privileges committee was submitted to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and he would take a decision on when to decide on Roja’s fate, he said.

Roja, however, said if she were to be suspended again, she would move the Supreme Court to seek justice. “I am not going to succumb to any pressures.

If at all the government has any moral values, it should disclose the entire video footage of the debate that went on in the assembly in December 2015; and not just the clippings that suit the TDP.

In fact, cases have to be filed against TDP whip Kalva Srinivasulu for stealing the video footage and leaking it to the select media,” the actor-turned-politician said.
